Media (in order of preference)
Acceptable File Formats
- Finished artwork supplied should be Apple Macintosh compatible.
- All files should be CYMK, minimum 300 DPI - 2400 DPI
- File Formats - .PDF, .AI, .PSD .EPS or .TIFF
- Fonts and images to be included with artwork files.
- Images taken directly from the web are not suited for printing due to poor quality. JPG, JPEG, GIF, .PNG file formats
- All submitted images are subject to copyright laws.
Glossary of Graphic Design Terms
CMYK Colours
Cyan (Blue), Magenta (Pink), Yellow and Black. These are the four standard spot colours used for all image and text printing.
RGB Colours
Red, Green and Blue colour standard used by computer monitors. These colours are not suitable for printing.
Dots Per Inch (DPI)
On a 2400 DPI printer every square inch is divided up into a 2400 x 2400 grid.
Really Simple Syndication (RSS Feed)
Free content feeds from websites that contain article headlines, summaries and weblinks back to full-text articles.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
A network protocol server used to transfer data from one computer to another through a network such as the Internet.
International Standard Serial Number (ISSN)
The ISSN is an eight-digit number which identifies periodical publications. Each ISSN assigned to a serial publication is registered in an international database. More than one million ISSN numbers have so far been assigned.

Editing a document for grammatical errors, typos, clarity and effect.
Glossary of File Formats
Encapsulated Post Script (.EPS)
Vector and bitmap data that is supported by all graphic, illustration and page layout programmes.
Tagged Image File Format (.TIFF)
Flexible bitmap image format supported by all image-editing and layout programmes.
Portable Document Format (.PDF)
Adobe file format that allows documents and images to include text, fonts, images and supports web hyperlinks.
Web File Formats (.JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .PNG)
Lossy compression which means it looses file size and therfore image quality. Suitable for only for websites (72 DPI).
